Byron, Georgia - Mr. Andrew Rumph, Jr. transitioned to Gods Home in Heaven&early Sunday morning at the Navicent Health Medical Center.

Death comes when He wills and in His own time. On Sunday morning, November 5, 2017, Andrew Rumph, affectionately called "Andy", was summoned into the world of eternal rest with our Savior and Lord. He was born July 19, 1936, in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late Andrew and Anna Rumph. A sister, Shellene R. Brown, and two brothers, Bennie Rumph and C.B. King preceded him in death.

Andrew attended the public school system in Fort Valley, Georgia. After completing school he moved to Miami, Florida. There he began working at a convalescent home. Later he began working at Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables, Florida. He worked there for 39 years.

On June 4, 1955 he was united in holy matrimony to Beatrice Causey.

After retiring Andy moved back to his home state of Georgia in 2006. He decided to reside in Byron, Georgia.

Upon his return to Byron he joined and faithfully attended Shiloh Baptist Church until his health failed.

Andy will be remembered for his very neat appearance, his quiet demeanor and his excellent culinary skills. The presentation of his meals was very impressive.

He will be forever missed by his devoted daughter, Lizzie Rumph who resided with him, daughters: Kathleen Rumph, Towanda Albury (Daryl) and Vernette Rumph; three sons Bobby Rumph (Breda), James Rumph (Amil) and Jimille Rumph, two grandchildren who he reared as his own; Shirina Chambers (Justin) and Shemena Rumph, six brothers: Jimmy Lee Rumph, Tommy Rumph (Helen), Marvin Rumph, Willie James Rumph Katie), Bobby Rumph (Shirley), Joseph Rumph ( Penny); seven sisters: Stella Tucker, Anna Howell, Katherine Ezell, Vera Jackson, Elaine Rumph, Mary R. Williams (Randolph) and Celestine Rumph, a devoted cousin Nettie Ruth Conyers, 27 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
