Deacon Robert Thomas Taylor affectionately called R.T. was born December 22, 1929 in Houston County, Georgia to Mr. T. Taylor and Mrs. Nonnie Woolfork Taylor. He attended the public schools of Houston County - Perry, Georgia.

Being reared in a Christian home, at an early age he joined the St. Paul Baptist Church where he maintained his membership for a lifetime. During the span of his membership, Mr. Taylor served as a Sunday school teacher and the Superintendent for many years; he was influential in organizing the Youth Department as well as other auxiliaries in the church. Mr. Taylor was an Ordained Deacon for more than forty years. After his health began to fail, he retired as Chairman of the Board of Deacons. On the first Sunday in November 2009 he was honored as Chairman Emeritus of the St. Paul Baptist Church. Deacon Taylor enjoyed praising the Lord and had no fear in letting his light shine.
Mr. R.T. Taylor was joined in Holy Matrimony to Miss Fannie Lue Casey on September 14, 1949. This union was blessed with nine children.
He was employed at the A.M. Bickley, Marshallville, Georgia for two years; afterward he was employed with the Blue Bird Body Company, Fort Valley, Georgia, where he retired after 25 years of dedicated and loyal services.

"Big-Dad" will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren as a granddaddy with few words and with a chuckle as he talked.
He was preceded in death by his father, T. Taylor, his mother, Nonnie Sneed, and a sister, Betty Rumph.
