Mr. Emory Davis was born July 11, 1932 to the parents of Sam Davis and Ella Stinson in Macon County, Georgia.& He attended the public schools there until 8th grade when he decided to enter into the workfield. Emory worked many years as a laborer on several different jobs. At an early age he joined Belvin AME Church where he served and maintain his membership until his dying day. He also attended Brown's Chapel CME Church as often as he could.

In the early 1960's Emory married Inez Whitfield. From that union 3 children were born. In 2009, his wife Inez Whitfield Davis was called home.

Emory was a man of wisdom with many hats of trade and was willing to share it with his family and friends. In spite of life's trails, he continued to roll on. He enjoyed sharing time with his morning friends at the Corner of Felton's Red & White Grocery Store. We know that he's in a better place; but we will certainly miss him.

On Monday September 19, 2016, in the comfort of his home, God called Emory Home for eternal rest.

He leaves to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life: four children: Bernice Harris (Joe) of Jacksonville, AR, Kenneth Davis (Hannah) of Marshallville, GA, Angela Barrett of Perry, GA and Farin Whitfield of Perry, GA; two sisters: Mary Jane Carson Price (Fletcher) of Albany, GA and Annie Ruth Carson of Florida; four other children he reared as his own: Rosa Ridley (Fletcher), Delois Askew Horace Parker and Danny Whitfield; ten grandchildren: Troy, Arlene, Ken, Nicky, Kenneth Davis, Jr., Annie and James Keen, Jr, Canvas and Brooklyn Barrett and Andre Thomas; also a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives who will miss him.
