Marshallville, Georgia - Mr. Freddy Jones of Marshallville, Georgia passed away at the Houston Medical Center on Friday, December 18, 2015. Funeral services will be hold on Saturday, December 26, 2015 @ 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Bethel Baptist Church in Marshallville, Georgia where the Rev. Preston King is the pastor. &Burial will follow in the Colonel Felton Cemetery.
Mr. Freddy Jones, affectionately known as "Fred," was born on December 7, 1943 in Macon County, Georgia to the late Ella Mae Jones and Fred Oglesby.
Fred was educated in the public school system of Macon County; he was a faithful employee of the Fort Valley Machine Shop as a welder until he retired. Fred will be remembered for his many skills and talents he had a love of fishing and always were there to lend a helping hand to whomever needed him, never turning anyone down.
Fred joined Jacqueline Cosby Jones into holy matrimony in 1965 six children were born into this union; two of which preceded him in death, Frederick and Janice.
On Friday, December 18, 2015, Fred departed this life and earned his wings with our Heavenly Father. His battle has been fought, the victory has been won and he is finally free; go and take your place in "God's Hall of Fame."
Those who are left to cherish his memories and celebrate his life include two sons, Kirk (Klanda) Jones, Hamilton, GA and Calvin (Keisha) Jones, Sr., Warner Robins, GA; two daughters, Etherine (Lonnie) Jones and Catherine Jackson, all of Marshallville, GA; 10 grandchildren, Lamar, Sherrell, Janice, LaTori, Isaiah, Calvin Jr., Rashad, Rashun, Javion, and Joshua; one great grandchild, Jeremiah L. Jones; a loving sister, Helen Massey, Canton, OH; three brothers, Joe Bennett, North Carolina, Oscar (Denise) Skinner and Alvin Ball, all of Canton, OH; a devoted aunt, Georgia Moody, Canton, OH; two sisters in law, Alice Klolmack, Warner Robins, GA and Amelia Cosby, Atlanta, GA; two brothers-in-law, Joseph (Dorothy) Cosby, Atlanta, GA; Levi (Pearl) Cosby, Cibolo, TX; two devoted and loving cousins, Edward (Bubba) and Rev. Joe Oglesby; four devoted friends, Jimmy Felton, Earnest Strawter, William Martin, and Charles Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends.
