Obituary

Gladys B. Hollis was born on June 8, 1941 in Miami, Florida to the late Mrs. Hattie Mae Felton and Mr. Willie Barrett.&


Gladys moved to Georgia during her childhood. She attended the public school system of Fort Valley, Georgia. She was a very smart, nice, warm and kind hearted person who always made people laugh and feel at home; she never met a stranger. She especially enjoyed cooking and caring for her children. She was loved by so many people.


Gladys departed this life on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:40 pm at the Oconee Regional Medical Center after succumbing from a lengthy illness. Her family was right by her side as she made her transition.


She was preceded in death by her six sisters, Beulah Barrett, Barbara Barrett, Ida Barrett, Frances Barrett, Lillian B. Watson and Christine B. London and two brothers, Leon Barrett and Walter Barrett.


She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two daughters, Yolonda Hollis (Tydreus) of Sparta, Georgia, Cassandra Hollis (Gerry) of Macon, Georgia; two sons: Charles Hollis (Carol), and Michael Hollis, all of Warner Robins, Georgia; two sisters: Eva Bouie, Warner Robins, Ga., and Annie Barrett of Bunnell, Florida, one brother, Melvin Barrett (Louise) of Macon, Georgia; a brother-in-law, Clifford Washington, Yonkers, New York, a devoted cousin, Willie James Felton (Jimmie Nell) of Fort Valley, Georgia, two sisters-in-law: Verna Hollis and Sandra Washington of Americus, GA.; a very devoted friend, Mr. Charles Hollis, Sr., Warner Robins, Georgia, 11 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
