On December 15, 2015, Glory Vinson Williams crossed Jordan for the final time. She was preceded in this crossing by her parents, Cecil and Rosa Flunory Vinson; a son, Travis Williams and a brother, Cecil Vinson, Jr.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Springhill CME Church, Byron, GA. She attended the Crawford County School System and the Peach County School System.
Ms. Williams was an avid gardener and cook. One of her greatest joys was watching others eat her culinary creations. Ms. Williams often called her brother-in-law, Ellison to compare the sizes of their gardens' yield. She loved cooking and sharing with those who could no longer cook for themselves. Even at the end of her life she was taking care of others.
Her family often called her the "history keeper" by her family and friends. She always seemed to remember what others had forgotten
Ms. Williams served as a cook for several businesses in Peach County, including the Peach County Hospital, Creek side Catfish Restaurant, and Country Cupboard. She also worked in the sanitation department of Peach County Hospital and Houston Medical Center (Warner Robins).
After retiring from the Houston Medical Center, she spent more time helping others, enjoying her grandchildren and gardening.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted friend, John Tramble, two sons, Larry (Shalunda) Williams, Jr., Patrick (Gloria) Williams, two devoted sisters, Kattie (Ellison) Kendrick, and Helen (John Bryant) Banks; three grandchildren, Larry Juwan Williams, Selena Williams, Patrick Williams, Jr.; four step-grandchildren, DeShard Postell, Jonathan, Jasmine, and Damon Lewis; aunts, Silver Day, Lillie Maude Lewis, Ester Hill, Johnnie Vinson, Lula (John) Bell, and Doretha Davis; nieces, Regina Haulcombe, Donna Haulcombe, Virgus Haulcombe, cousins and friends including a wonderful friend and neighbor, Mattie Bell Harris.
The family may be contacted at the residence.
