IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ida Mae
(Bryant) Collins

Ida Mae Bryant Collins was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1931 and God's angels came for her Saturday, December 24, 2016.& The last years of her life were spent battling dementia in Roberta and Fort Valley Nursing Home.
Ida led a colorful life from childhood to the end. She was outgoing and outspoken. She enjoyed neighbors and friends gathering at her house for conservation and good times. In the 60's she was known for house fish fries and people dancing to see how low they could go under the limbo stick.
What she loved most was praising the Lord thru song and prayer at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she was a life time member along with her mother and grandmother. Ida sang in the choir and was a member of the Ushers Board. She attended the segregated school at Powersville completing the 6th grade. During the 1930-40's it was expected that you help out on the farm as soon as you were old or tall enough to work. One of Ida's greatest accomplishments was building her own house and moving off the farm.
