Obituary

Jaliyah Christina Howard, our "miracle Baby", was born July 6, 2002, in Macon, Georgia weighing 1 pound, 3 ounces&able to fit in the palm of her mother's hand. As a reminder that "Christ" would be with her at all times and in remembrance of her grandfather's middle name "Christopher"' her middle name was given.

Jaliyah was an angel to everyone she contacted. Hersmile lit up a room and a special way of letting you knowshe was there. Jaliyah loved to laugh, listen to music and hear her siblings "keep up a fuss." She also loved to dance with her mother on her hip, and laugh at her dad fussing when Miami Hurricanes lost every single week. The sound of her name being called by her grandmother Fredia andgreat-grandmother, Nettie, or the high pitch whistles from her Papa made Jaliyah's heartleap.

She was a Seventh Grade student at Thompson Middle School in Warner Robins, Georgia receiving many awards as a student including the Big Heart Award, Academic Achievement Award, Character Award, Ray of Sunshine Award and the Smarty Pants Award. Jaliyah received 2nd and 3rd place for the Skills, Courage, Sharing, Joy Award consecutively in the Special Olympics.

Jaliyah was christened and rededicated to Christ on July 6, 2003, at Usher's Temple CME Church, underRev. Dr. Curtis L. West, Jr. and her great-great uncle, the late Father Hugie Walker.

Jaliyah was preceded in death by her grandfather, Darryl C. Johnson; great grandmother, Lois Sayles; and two great grandfather's, Robert Brown, Sr., and John D. Sayles, Sr.
