Funeral Services for Mrs. Louise Slappy
&Mrs. Louise Slappy, lovingly known as "Lou" or as she called herself, "Mrs. Slappy," was born on October 18, 1935 in Macon County to the late Joseph and Gladys Haugabook Rice. She attended the historic Flint River School in Montezuma, Georgia. She worked for a brief period, but spent most of her life as a homemaker. On February 19, 1955, she married Mr. James "Coon" Slappy; and from this union, they were blessed with five children. Her son, Jimmie M. Rice preceded her in death. Mrs. Slappy is affectionately known for her unique and favorite phrase, "You Ole White Mouth Mule." Mrs. Slappy left her earthly home on September 8, 2015 at the Peach County Emergency Center. She leaves to treasure her beautiful and maternal memories two daughters: Joann (Toussant) Rascoe of Ossining, N.Y, Karen Walton of Fort Valley, Georgia; three sons: Terry (Linda) Slappy of Warner Robins, Georgia, James Slappy, Jr. of Marshallville, Georgia, and Ray Anthony Slappy (Rene of Marshallville) and a companion, Felicia Rice, of Edgewood, Maryland. Four sisters: Mary A. Rice of Fort Valley, Georgia, Beulah "Bea" (Tom) Barton of Leesburg, Florida, Mary Nell (James) Davis of Miami, Florida, Lessie P. Reid (John) of Carol City, Florida, Cynthia Bozier (Thomas) of Charlotte, NC and Ossie Prater Hall (Gregory) of Macon, Georgia. Two brothers: Eddie B. Rice of Fort Valley, Georgia and Dr. Joe W. Rice of Marshallville, Georgia. Brother-in-law Robert C. Jones (Bennie C. Rice Jones who preceded her in death) of Warner Robins, Georgia. A granddaughter, Latonya "Kissy" Slappy; and a great-grandson Damarcus "Short" Slappy, both whom she raised as her own. A devoted stepson, Calvin "Bull" Lindsey of Marshallville, Georgia. An uncle, Joseph Haugabook (Joann) of Rockmart, Georgia; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
