Warner Robins, Georgia- Funeral services for Mr. Marvin Harris of Warner Robins will be held on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Bethel Baptist Church in Marshallville, Georgia. &Mr. Harris passed away on Saturday,December 20, 2015 at the Houston Medical Center.
Mr. Marvin Harris was born on August 5, 1964 to the parentage of Mr. Leroy and Mrs. Laurine Harris in Marshallville, GA. Marvin was educated in the Macon County Public School System. He graduated from Macon County High School.
After graduating from Macon County High School, Marvin wanted to be adventurous and decided he wanted to serve his country; he enlisted in the United States Navy. The day he raised his right hand and took his oath was one of the proudest moments of his life. He served in the Navy for four years.
Continuing his adventurous mentality, Marvin decided he wanted to serve his local community and pursued a career as a fireman. He served in this capacity until he retired. Not wanting to sit still, after he retired, he took a job opportunity working in the logistics department at Perdue.
Marvin was full of life. He was a very outgoing person and loved having fun. He especially enjoyed going camping, playing cards and shooting a friendly game of pool. He was blessed to grow up in a large family. He was extremely close to his siblings.
On Sunday, December 20, 2015, Marvin answered the Master's call and made his transition from Earth to Glory.
He was preceded in death by a beloved mother and father, Mrs. Laurine Harris and Mr. Leroy Harris, Sr. two loving brothers, Mr. Gary Harris, Mr. Leroy Harris, Jr., and a devoted sister, Ms. Peggy Harris.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: a devoted and loving wife, Mrs. Sharon Harris, Warner Robins, GA; four children, Mr. Kendall Robinson, Great Lakes, Chicago, Mr. Roderick Devaugh, Mr. Lamarvin Harris, and Ms. Shanda Harris, all of Jacksonville, FL; four loving grandchildren, four devoted brothers, Mr. Sandy Harris, Chicago, IL, Mr. Milton (Nellie) Harris, Mr. Ralph Harris, Mr. Anthony Harris, all of Warner Robins, GA; three loving sisters, Mrs. Mary (Jeremiah) Stone, Fort Valley, GA; Mrs. Faye (Richard) Fortune, Sumter, SC, Mrs. Tammy Sullivan, Marshallville, GA; a caring uncle, Mr. Otis Harris, Marshallville, GA; two devoted friends, Chief Sammy Cephus, Montezuma, GA and Marie Harris, Jacksonville, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
