Mattie Claude Adams was born December 21st, 1947, in Perry, Georgia. She was a loving mother and friend who loved to dance and laugh. She passed on home to her Lord and Savior October 5th, 2023, at the beautiful age of 75.

She attended public school and graduated from Ballard Hudson High School, class of 1966.  She had an interest in working within the school system in different capacities throughout her career, her longest being at Mercer University. She had such a beautiful servant heart. She served  selflessly, humbly.

Sister Adams found her church home in Beulahland Bible Church. She loved serving in the usher and dance ministry, as well as singing in the senior choir.

Mattie was born to the late Allen Washington Sr. and Lena Willis- Washington. She had seven sisters and six brothers. Mattie leaves the legacy of her four children Sophia Snead (Ben), Lee T. Hughes Jr., Charles Adams Jr., and Earl D Adams. She leaves six grandchildren Briana Snead, Jordan Hughes, Brittany Snead, Chanaya Adams, Candice Adams, and Chamerah Braswell, one sister Lena B. Foster, two brothers Abraham Washington, and Milton Washington (Pauline) of Birmingham, Alabama, and one sister-in-law Ann Francis Washington of Warner Robins, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mattie C. Washington Adams
