Ms. Mildred Smith was born on December 2, 1926 in Macon County, Marshallville, Georgia, daughter of the late Melvin "M.B." Smith and Marie Felton Smith and stepmother, Estella Smith.

She was educated in the public school system of Macon County and graduated from Lamson-Richardson School of Marshallville in 1942.& She was employed for a number of years as a housekeeper and later as a custodian at First State Bank of Marshallville, Georgia.

At a young age, Mildred joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church where she served on the Mission Board as the finance secretary. She served and faithfully supported the church and its programs, never missing a program or service until recently when her health began to slow her down. Even then she was determined to "go to church" and be amongst her church family.

Her children and grandchildren affectionately called her "Mommee" and because of her kindness and loving spirit, so many others referred to her as "Mommee" as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Catherine Smith.

She leaves a legacy of love and fond memories to her three children: Marie Benson (Gregory), Warner Robins, Georgia; Glenn Nell Smith, Marshallville, Georgia; Harrell Smith, Fort Valley, Georgia; two sisters, Bertha Johnson, Detroit, Michigan and Lula Mae Brown, Fort Valley, Georgia; four grandchildren, Lakendra "Mekie" Haslem, Renita Sanders (Brian), Tennille Warren of Warner Robins, Georgia and Cameron Warren (LaToya) of Marshallville, Georgia; five great-grandchildren, Dalen Haslem, Shaniya Haslem, Devin Haslem, Cameron "C J" Warren, Jr., and Aaliyah Sanders; two devoted nieces, Phyllis Walker and Vivian McGhee; a devoted neighbor, Charlie White, Jr., and other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Ms. Mildred Smith made her heavenly transition on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.
