Funeral Services for Minister Gracie Hillsman Glover,& a lifelong resident of Fort Valley will be held Monday, August 14, 2017 at the eleven O'clock hour in the sanctuary of Shiloh Baptist Church, Fort Valley, Georgia.
Gracie was born June 22, 1949 to the proud parents Mr. and Mrs. John Hillsman, Sr. She was educated in the Peach County Public Schools. She furthered her education at Fort Valley State College. Gracie taught in Taylor, Peach and Houston County for a total of 36 years. Her greatest achievement was when she became a licensed Minister under the leadership of her brother, Pastor Morris Hillsman, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Hillsman, Sr; one brother, Elder Zobbie Williams and one sister, Susie Bowman.
On Tuesday, August 8, 2017 Gracie made a peaceful transition while a patient at the Houston Medical Center.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 48 years, Mr. Freddy Glover; two sons, Roderick Glover (Kenya) and Frederick Glover (June); her loving mother, Mrs. Elsie Hillsman; five grandchildren: Dorian, Trudeah, Samone, Brianna, and Frederick, Jr.; her siblings, Pastor Morris Hillsman, Sr. (Bernice), Florine Ezell, Katie Ruth Hillsman, and John Hillsman, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Doris Jackson and Charity Phillips and one brother-in-law, Johnny Glover (Gloria); four aunts: Susie Pearl Johnson, Ruth Daniels, Lola Bell Weaver and Lizzie Johnson; two uncles, Morris Felder and LC Johnson; host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
Viewing will be held: Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at C.J. Edwards Funeral Home.
