Mr. Felder made his transition on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Burial will be held on the following day, Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Andersonville National Cemetery.

Mr. Morris Felder was born in Houston County, Georgia to Mrs. Gertrude Felder and Mr. Sharper Felder, who both preceded him in death. He was preceded in death by his loving and supportive wife, Mattie Felder, sister, Anna Felder, his brothers, John Hillsman, Sharper Felder, Jr., and Jefferson Felder. He was also preceded in death by his nieces Susie Bowman, Anna Morton, and Gracie Glover, along with his nephew, Zobbie Williams. Unfortunately, his dear sister-in-law, Elsie Hillsman passed away Friday, October 27, 2017

Mr. Felder was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. Often, he would reminisce about the time the city of Fort Valley had a parade to honor him and another soldier because they were the first citizens of Peach County to enlist in the army. He served gallantly and received several medals and honors. Much of his education was obtained while serving in the military. As an avid reader and explorer, his superb intelligence was acquired through travel and extensive personal research. He enjoyed playing chess and checkers with his friends. Mr. Felder often traveled with his wife and in-laws, detailing treasured memories of their times with joy.

In 1985, he was baptized by his nephew and namesake Pastor Morris Hillsman, becoming a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

He enjoyed spending time with his great nieces and nephews. He held a special fondness for his great, great nephew Dexter, who shared his love for hats.

Those who are left to cherish his memories of life are his loving sister, Susie Pearl Johnson; stepson, John (Earnestine) Harden, Jr.; step grandchildren John Harden, III and Amita Harden; brothers-in-law Cecil (Betty) Porter and Clifford (Carolyn) Porter; nephews Pastor Morris (Bernice) Hillsman, John Hillsman, Jr., Thomas Barnette, Jr., and Freddie Glover; nieces Florine Ezell, Katie Hillsman, Muriel (Willie) Nelson, and Debra (Ricky) Porter; and great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
