Obituary

Mrs. Norma Jean Jackson McKenzie affectionately called "Pimp" was born August 17, 1949 in Macon County, Marshallville, Georgia, daughter of the late Frank and Magnolia Rumph Jackson.&
She grew up on the Johnson Farm in Macon County. Norma Jean received her education at the Lamson Richardson Elementary School in Marshallville, Georgia and the historic D.F. Douglass High School in Montezuma, Georgia.
At a young age Norma Jean joined the Springhill Baptist Church where she was one of the lead singers in the choir. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Felton McKenzie.
Norma Jean was a kind and affectionate person with a giving heart who loved her family and friends as well.Her door was always open to the Community.She earned the title as the Bondman of the Community. "One call, that's all" was her motto if you needed a Bondman or a helping hand she was right there; she spoke straight from the heart; whatever came up, came out. She found joy making others laugh, her jovial personality made her the life of the party and will live on in the life of those who came in contact with her. Her distinct laugh will never be forgotten.
Norma Jean worked many jobs; one of the proudest moments of her life was when she opened her own daycare center- McKenzie Daycare Center, Marshallville, Georgia, Owner and Operator, Mrs. Norma Jean McKenzie.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; a companion of 33 years, Eugene Ross; four sisters: Helen Jackson, Lena Mae Walker, Juanita Ellison, Annie Lou Johnson and one brother, Frank Jackson, Sr.; her son, Ronald L. Jackson (Bam-Bam), and a niece she raised as her own – Latasha Jackson.
Survivors: her husband, Felton McKenzie of Marshallville, GA; two devoted children: Elder Gregory (Louise) Jackson and Laquana McKenzie (Reginald Lowe) all of Perry, GA;10 grandchildren( including 2 she reared as her own: India McKenzie and Octavious Fields) , Cheronica Wilson, Da Tren Hammonds, LaQuawn Felton (Jonathan), Tomeka Barrett and Travis Jones, Larry Greene and Terrance Barrett; 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great - great grandchild; one sister, Annie Maude Collins (Cartrell), Columbia, SC and one brother, Harvey Lee Jackson (Rosebud) Marshallville, GA; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Jackson, Grace Paster, Bernice and all of Marshallville, GA.; a host of nieces and nephews including a devoted niece, Joann Jackson and a dear friend, Mattie Redding and a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
