Fort Valley, GA - Ola Lowman passed away on May 1, 2016.& She was educated in the public schools of Crawford and Peach Counties, obtained a Bachelor's degree from Fort Valley State University and continued her studies at the University of Georgia.
Her passion for helping young people was demonstrated for more than thirty years in the public schools of Butts, Macon, and Crawford Counties. Furthermore, she was devoted to her family, her church, Gordon Chapel A.M.E., and her community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah N. Lowman, Sr., and Savonia W. Lowman; two brothers: Sol Lowman, Sr. and Elijah Lowman, Jr.
Her memory will forever be cherished by: her sister, Blanche L. Rhodes, Nashville, TN; two brothers: Leon Lowman, Sr. (Carolyn), Bonaire, GA, Hal Lowman, Sr. (Lavonne), Fort Valley, GA; a sister-in-law, Frances Lowman, Fort Valley, GA; nephews and nieces: Sol Lowman, Jr. (Tara), Princesita Hawkins (Sheldrick), Christopher Rhodes, Nashville, TN; Leon Lowman, Jr. (Venezia), Colorado Springs, CO, Dr. Leah Lowman - Maddox(Donald), Bogart, GA, Atty. David Lowman, Atlanta, GA, Gwendolyn Lowman, Lithonia, GA, Brenda Berry (Jerome) Snellville, GA, Hal Lowman, Jr. (Erica), Roswell, GA, and Halicia Lowman, Grand Prairie, TX; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Rev. Nathaniel Holts will officiate her graveside service on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Henry Lowman Cemetery in Crawford County.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be given in memory of Ola Lowman to Homestead Hospice (500 Osigian Blvd., Suite 300, Warner Robins, GA 31088).
