Graveside Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Willow Lake Memorial Garden Cemetery, Fort Valley, Georgia at 11:00 a.m.

Thelma Corneal Cosby was born July 26, 1947, in Fort Valley, Georgia to the
late Robert Cosby and Emma Mae (Vinson) Cosby.
Thelma was a 1966 graduate of H.A. Hunt High School. She attended Fort
Valley State (College) University and graduated with a Bachelor degree in
Sociology, Pre

-Professional Social Works.

Thelma spent a major portion of her life serving as a helping Professional.
She spent many years in Education as a substitute teacher in Peach County
and later retiring only to work with the senior citizens in Marshallville,
Georgia that she thoroughly enjoyed leading activities.
Thelma's personality was very unique and humorous, she could tell a joke
and would beat you with laughter, she had the ability of turning lemons into
lemonade. Thelma never met a stranger and touched the heart of each
person she encountered.
Thelma joined her family home church of Zellner Chapel in Fort Valley at an
early age and later moved her membership to Greater Cathedral of Praise in
Fort Valley under the Pastorship of Bishop Timothy B Deas, Sr.
On July 18, 2022, after a long history of sickness, Thelma departed this
earthly life for an eternal life at Memorial Health University Medical Center
in Savannah, Georgia. Thelma is preceded in death by her sisters Rosa Marie
Cosby, Lucy (Cosby)McKenzie, brothers Robert Cosby Jr. and Willie
Cosby.
Thelma leaves loving memories to a sister, Annie Fountain, Perry, Georgia;
devoted cousin and caretaker; Barbara (Vinson) Jennings, Newnan, Georgia;
Gus Oglesby (Mable), Fort Valley, Georgia; loving nieces, nephews and
cousins; a devoted uncle, Eder Bell Vinson, Fort Valley, Georgia; Godson,
Edmond Jeremiah Ross, Americus, Georgia; others relatives and friends.
