Obituary

Mrs. Thomasena Miller was born in Leesville, South Carolina to the parents of Ulysses and Verbena Perry on October 21, 1930.& She attended elementary, middle grades, high school and college in South Carolina. After graduating from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, she began teaching in Augusta, Ga.


She met her late husband Clarence B. Miller and moved to Fort Valley. To this union two girls were born, Sandra and Gail. Gail preceded her in death. She taught in the Peach County School System until she retired.


Thomasena became a member of Ushers Temple CME Church and was a member of the Stewardess Board and the Missionary Society. She was also an avid member of the Bible Study and Sunday School classes.


Thomasena was a member of the Peach County Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Fort Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.


Her favorite bible verse is Mark 8:36 "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, but lose his soul?"


Her memories will be left with her daughter, Sandra Carter (David), grandchildren Kamilah J. Carter, David B. Carter, IV and Sydne Smith, great-grand son Kayden Sutton, sister Willie Mae Ingram, neices Dr. Phyllis Luciano, Janine Jenkins, Judge Yvette Miller, Nephews Bruce Ingram, John Charles Perry (Gisele), Dr. Conrad Miller (Stephanie) and Eric Miller (Linda), sisters-in-law Patricia Miller and Virginia Perry. Two very dear friends of many years Mrs. Yvonne Rockmore and Mrs. Bobbie Miller and a host of other relatives and friends.
